Today's Wine Review... Love My Goat Red

The wine is LOVE MY GOAT red table wine from BULLY HILL VINEYARDS. This wine is so very drinkable. The label claims a subtle and soft flavor experience and they deliver. I would pair this wine with any thing but seafood. A great table wine for any day! Smooth and refreshing!

Nantucket Style Dressing(stuffing)

This is a great alternative to more traditional dressing or stuffing dishes.

2 bags stuffing cubes
2 15 oz. cans of chicken broth
2 eggs, broken
1 1/2 Sticks salted butter, melted
1/8 tsp each, ground cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt, pepper, chives, parsley, and thyme.
3/4 cup Dried cranberries
1/2 cup walnuts
1 apple peeled and diced

In a large mixing bowl mix stuffing cubes and egg just to lightly coat the cubes.
In a separate bowl mix all dry ingredients and add the melted butter.
Pour the mixture over the cubes and mix to coat.
Gently fold in the berries, nuts and apple.
Put cubes into a large baking dish packing them lightly.
Slowly pour chicken broth over the cubes making sure of even distribution.
Bake covered at 400 for about 30 minutes or until most of the broth is absorbed.
Bake uncovered 15minutes or until browned.

I hope you enjoy my first shared recipe!

Christmas Dinners

I think that since we have been stuffing our selves full of holiday favorites we should start there. What did you make? Did you try a new dish? Let me know!

In my house the usual is Ham. Not the sweet stuff either. A good old fashion salty and lightly smoked ham!

This year was no different as far as the main dish goes. There were how ever a few changes with the sides.

Our Menu:

Ham
Smashed Baked Potatoes
Sweet Corn
Peas
Nantucket Style Dressing (stuffing)
Gravy
Pumpkin Pie
Apple Pie

My new favorite holiday food has to be the dressing! It is a recipe of my own and is perfect! I cooked dinner in my rather large kitchen (with no useful space what so ever) and transported it to the home of a friend. The meal was wonderful and the company was amazing. We followed dinner with some home blended winter friendly tea and a bottle of Black Cat. I could not have asked for a better Holiday!
